Peanut Pioneer. George Washington Carver found over 300 uses for peanuts, including peanut butter, dyes, soap, and even plastics. His discoveries helped farmers earn money from crops other than cotton.
Soil Saver. He taught farmers that planting the same crop over and over depletes the soil, so he convinced them to rotate crops like peanuts and sweet potatoes instead. This kept the soil healthy and saved their farms.
Self-Taught Scholar. Born into slavery, Carver worked his way through school and became a respected scientist despite facing discrimination. He earned a degree in agriculture and eventually taught at Tuskegee Institute in Alabama.
Teacher & Helper. Carver didn't just do lab experiments, he traveled to farms to teach poor farmers his methods directly. He believed knowledge should help ordinary people, not just stay locked away in universities.
Black Science Icon. During a time when Black scientists faced huge barriers, Carver became one of the most famous and respected scientists in America. Presidents and business leaders sought his advice.
