Cool facts
Tiny chemical factory. Inside a battery, chemicals react with each other and release energy. That energy becomes the electricity that flows out to power your devices.
Plus and minus. Every battery has a positive end and a negative end. Electrons flow out from the negative end, travel through your device, and come back to the positive end.
Made of cells. A battery is made of one or more 'cells.' Long ago the word only meant a group of cells, but now even a single cell counts as a battery.
Energy on the move. As the chemicals change from high-energy to low-energy forms, the leftover energy is delivered to your circuit as useful electric power.
