A giant capital. Cairo is Egypt's capital and biggest city, plus its top cultural center. Alexandria, the second-biggest city, is a busy hub for industry and tourism.
Lots of people. With over 107 million people, Egypt is the most populous country in the Arab world and the third-most populous in all of Africa.
Surrounded by seas. The Mediterranean Sea borders Egypt to the north and the Red Sea sits to the east, with the Gulf of Aqaba separating it from Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
Desert neighbors. To the south lie Sudan and the vast Sahara desert, while Libya borders Egypt to the west.
