Birds of prey. Eagles are large hunting birds in the family Accipitridae, known for their strong talons and hooked beaks.

Found worldwide. Most of the 68 eagle species live in Eurasia and Africa, but a few live in North and South America and Australia.

The bald eagle. The famous bald eagle is one of the most well-known eagles, even though it isn't a 'true eagle' on a genetic level.

True eagles. Only the subfamily Aquilinae counts as 'true eagles', the word 'eagle' is more of a nickname than a strict scientific group.
