Cool facts
Made by mints. Coins are created in special factories called mints, which stamp them out in huge quantities so everyone can use the same money. Each coin is made to weigh exactly the same as all the others.
Heads and tails. The front of a coin is called the obverse or heads, and it usually shows the face of an important person like a ruler or president. The back is called the reverse or tails.
Government money. Most coins are made and released by governments to help their countries trade and do business. This makes them official legal tender that everyone agrees to accept.
Decorated with symbols. Coins often have pictures, numbers, and words stamped on them. These designs tell us about the country, when the coin was made, and how much it's worth.
