Master painter. Leonardo was one of the greatest painters of the Renaissance, an exciting time of art and learning in Italy.

Famous notebooks. He filled notebooks with drawings and ideas about anatomy, astronomy, plants, maps, and even fossils.

A true polymath. He was a painter, engineer, scientist, sculptor, and architect all at once, a person good at many different things.

Backwards writing. Leonardo often wrote his notes in mirror-writing, reading from right to left so you'd need a mirror to read them easily.

Curious scientist. He studied how the human body works and sketched detailed drawings of bones, muscles, and more.
