More than just warmth. Campfires do four amazing jobs: they light up the night, keep you cozy and warm, cook your food, and even act like a security guard by scaring away insects and predators that don't like fire.

Built-in safety rings. Many campgrounds have special stone or steel fire rings already set up to contain the flames and keep the fire from spreading dangerously into the forest.

A camping must-have. Campfires are such a big part of camping that they've become a beloved tradition, kids and families gather around them for warmth, cooking, stories, and friendship.

Lights up the night. A campfire can work like a beacon (a bright signal), helping lost campers find their way back to camp in the dark.
